RICHMOND, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Virginia State Board of Elections has certified the results from the June 18 primary elections.

In a unanimous vote on Tuesday, the five-member board certified all of the winners, including state Senator John McGuire, for the November general election.

McGuire has 374 more votes than Congressman Bob Good.

With more than 62,000 ballots cast, that means the candidates are separated by less than one percentage point.

However, the margin does not fall within the range for an automatic recount, which is half a percentage point or less.

"This is the honor of a lifetime. I look forward to continuing our fight for Virginia families every day in Congress," said McGuire in a statement. "I humbly ask for your support in November, both for my campaign and for President Donald J. Trump. Without Trump and a Republican Congress, we will lose our great country."

Good can request a recount but he will have to pay for it. He has 10 days to file that request.

Good has not yet released a statement regarding the certification. However, the Associated Press does report he has said he would request a recount.
