CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Police Department is looking for a man involved in a hit-and-run that happened last week.

According to police, officers tried to serve a warrant on 24-year-old Daquan Devante Sims on June 27.

He is wanted in Greene County on an assault charge and in Rockingham County for violating parole.

Sims drove away from the scene in a rented white GMC Sierra with Virginia tags TTJ7012.

In doing so, he hit an unmarked CPD vehicle driven by a police officer.

CPD does not believe Sims targeted the officer while trying to get away. The officer in the police vehicle was not hurt.
