ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- People can now submit pictures of their pets for inclusion in the 2025 Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA calendar.

The animal shelter has opened submissions for the annual Calendar Contest, which invites pet owners and CASPCA alumni to send photos of their pets in for a chance to be featured in the calendar.

The cat or dog with the most votes will be featured on the cover and the next six top dogs and six top cats will be featured in the monthly images. This is specifically for animals that have been adopted from CASPCA.

Pet owners also have the option to secure a guaranteed spot for their pet on a specific date for a $15 donation. This can celebrate the pet’s birthday, adoption day or memorialize a pet who has passed.

This option is open to any local pet on a first-come, first-served basis.

Since this contest is a fundraiser to help support the shelter’s mission, it costs $20 to enter a pet and $1 to cast a vote for an animal.

"This contest is a wonderful way to honor your pet and contribute to a meaningful cause. We're calling on all pet owners, whether they have dogs, cats, or any other pets, to participate and celebrate their beloved companions," said Sierra Stevens, marketing manager at CASPCA.

Submissions must be received by 8 p.m. on Aug. 15.

Calendars will be available for pre-order with shipping starting in late October.
