CROZET, Va (CBS19 News)-- Earlier today a parade that has been around for about 65 years took place.

The Crozet Independence Day Parade and Celebration all started with the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department parade at Crozet Elementary School. The parade went down Crozet Avenue through downtown Crozet to Claudius Crozet Park.

They say that they hope that this is a chance for people young and old poor and rich to come together to celebrate.

“We hope that this is a chance for rich and poor and young and old and the people who have been here their whole lives so far and those who just moved here a year ago will get together at King Family Vineyards and join in the celebration,” says Tim Tolson.

They say that they estimate that there at over 100 floats and firetrucks combined for the Crozet parade.

They concluded the evening with the fireworks which they say are stupendous and a sight to see.
