CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A pair of area bridges will be closing next week for repairs.

The Virginia Department of Transportation says one of the bridges is in Albemarle County while the other is in Orange County and both will close on Monday.

In Albemarle, VDOT says Boonesville Road will close to all traffic at the intersection with Simmons Gap Road.

For the next two months, crews will be rehabilitating the bridge over the Lynch River.

A detour will be in place for drivers telling them to take Boonesville Road to Free Union Road and then to Davis Show Road before turning onto Markwood Road, which intersects with Simmons Gap Road.

The bridge was originally built in 1932 and has a 16-ton weight limit.

Crews will be replacing the superstructure, including the deck, and reconstructing the top of the abutments.

This project is expected to be completed by Aug. 20.

And in Orange County, Governor Barbour Street will close over Blue Run, which is between Mansion Road and Vineyard Road in the Barboursville area.

Message boards will direct drivers on Spotswood Trail, which runs parallel to Governor Barbour Street, and on Governor Barbour Street around the project.

This bridge was originally built in 1940, and crews will be replacing the steel beam timber deck with concrete slabs.

This will require repairs to the substructure as well.

This project should be completed by Aug. 30.
