CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The race for the 5th District Republican primary between incumbent Bob Good and challenger John McGuire is too close to call.

As of 11:30 p.m., the official Virginia Department of Elections website had McGuire with 31,030 votes and Good with 30,668.

A difference of less than 1% entitles the losing candidate to ask for a recount.

Whoever ends up winning the Republican primary will take on Democrat Gloria Tinsley Witt in the general election.
